Program Overview

We are an after-school strings program that provides high-quality music education and academic tutoring for underserved students in Dallas, Texas.

Strings Education

Students receive high-level violin lessons daily after school. We pride ourselves on providing top quality instruction, empowering students to play at an exceptional level.

Before violin I gave up on things. Now I know I have to practice and practice so I can get better.
— Carlos, grade 4

Academic Tutoring

Students in the program receive daily academic tutoring from community volunteers. Volunteers are vital to students' success and overall well-being.

The tutors help me learn new things, and to express myself more.

Attending the Black Violin concert showed me that you can get opportunities through music.
— Camila, grade 5

concerts and events

Our students perform at a very high level. We host two community concerts each year, plus performances around DFW. We have performed at SMU, Dallas Porch Fest, and the Mayor's Back to School Fair, to name a few.

visiting artists

As part of our commitment to high-quality music instruction, we are joined by some of the best professional musicians from around DFW. Visiting Artists lead our students in sectionals, workshops, and small group lessons.

So glad to serve as a coach to these talented kids! I love that each of them has a chance to do special things through music.
